“How long does the teeth whitening last?”
On average, non smokers 6-8 months. Oral hygiene and habits will affect longevity.
“How often can I do the treatment?”
Ideally, 4-6 months after. If two sessions are needed, they can be done 1-3 weeks apart without harm. In between touch ups (30 mins) can be done if needed 2-4 months after.
“How many sessions will I need?”
Usually one full session is enough. Heavy staining or “stubborn” teeth may require another session. Results however, are immediate.


“Will my teeth be sensitive after?”
Sensitivity is possible, but rare. Avoid anything cold to drink right after treatment. Apply vitamin E to soothe if needed.
“I have fillings/crowns/veneers on my front teeth.. will these whiten?”
The whitening process will not change the colour of the tooth as it’s a porcelain/ composite material.
“I have a root canal on my front tooth.. will this change colour?”
Yes and no.. the tooth is dead with no nerve supply so the tooth colour will not change like the rest of the teeth. Some stain will be removed.
“Does insurance cover this treatment?”
Typically, insurance companies will not cover as it is considered a cosmetic procedure. A receipt is provided however, if you want to try to claim it!
“How many shades will my teeth lighten?”
Results will vary from patient to patient. On average, 4-12 shades.
“Will this treatment harm my teeth?”
The gel is Health Canada approved and safe for the enamel. The tooth enamel is also the hardest substance in the body! Only if done excessively can it start to “soften”.
